CLUBHOUSE

The Young Achievers' Clubhouse was officially launched on 31st August, 2003 by two distinguished ladies, YBhg Datin Seri Wendy Ong and YBhg Datin Freida Dato' Pilus. 

It is located in USJ, Subang Jaya, a strategic place for all the Young Achievers to assemble before leaving for school every day and a cool week-end hangout for those who want to enjoy its serenity and facilities. It also serves as a common place for parents to get together and to hold meetings and functions.

THE CLUBHOUSE ACTIVITIES (2003/04) (As of Nov 19th, 2003) 

Please Note:     Dates of certain activities may change due to unforeseeable circumstances & will be adjusted accordingly with advance notice. Efforts are made to take into account study periods, tuition & examination dates, as well as certain family, festive/religious & extra-curricular commitments. However, participation in as many of the planned activities is important. The Club will communicate via emails to reconfirm attendance for each activity.

a)

YAC Book Club

Members lend books to YAC library for 1-2 month’s period to share with the rest. Members to write short reviews of books read & selected reviews will be posted in the YAC website.

 

b)

YAC Movie Mania

Selected movies with educational &/or moral message will be screened in the Club House living room. Open to parents.

Saturday nights on alternative months

c)

An Evening on Home & Living Skills

 

Learning minor home repairs, general house cleaning, bed making, pest control, security in the home, simple cooking, gardening activities, etc. Overnight stay at the Club House.

Fire Prevention in the Home

Bomba Unit of Subang Jaya makes a visit to the Club House with a fire truck. Open to parents.

“Love Is In The Air”

A Valentine’s Day Treat

An evening for parents to show their love & appreciation to their kids. Parents decorate clubhouse in a cozy & romantic way, then cook & serve dinner to their kids.

Crime Prevention for Everyone

Learn how to stay safe with crime prevention techniques by the M’sian Crime Prevention Foundation. Open to parents.

A Visit to an Old Folks Home(In conjunction with the International Day of Older Persons)

Pay respect to the old in conjunction with International Day of Older Persons.

An Evening at the Golf Driving Range

With a potluck dinner at the driving range. Open to parents.

Picnic at the Beach with a Difference

Spend half a morning cleaning a stretch of beach & then have fun picnicking in a clean beach. Open to parents.

Festive Celebrations

a)

Hari Raya Puasa ((Nov 14th & 15th)

Raya open house visits to members’ homes in a convoy. A member’s family is encouraged to volunteer to talk & show to visiting members on the significance of the festival & its traditions. Open to parents.

Dates to be arranged closer to festive dates due to Balik Kampung & Family Vacations.

To achieve mention in the Malaysian Book Of Records for the most number of children cooking for the most number of orphans, disabled & the poor. Open to parents & friends.
